The Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF), presented by the Hill Country Film Society, announced its official program selections for its 15th annual festival, set to take place in Fredericksburg, May 30-June 2.
This year’s festival will showcase a total of 66 films, including several with ties to Austin, Dallas and the Texas Hill Country, along with a mix of narrative and documentary features, short films, panel discussions and evening events... In addition to feature films, HCFF is showcasing 56 short films, representing a wide range of genres from comedies and dramas to documentaries and animations.
“Tessa,” directed by Megan Dahl, is a documentary filmed in Austin and Buda. It tells a deeply personal story of a woman’s journey through lifechanging challenges.
Tessa Brown was the first participant in the Special Needs Adaptive/Aquatic Program (SNAP) when it began at the Hays Communities YMCA in February 2014. Now 12 years old, Tessa is featured in the documentary short TESSA, directed by Megan Dahl...
The film highlights Tessa's preparation for and participation in her first swim meet at the Endeavor Games at the YMCA in Edmond, OK...
Despite being only two years old when she began swim lessons and a triple congenital amputee, Tessa...has gone on to swim in numerous competitions, most recently at the Junior Nationals...Whenever you think about Expanding Access for ALL, think of Tessa and the thousands of other lives we can enrich through our Y community.
Film festivals are a crucial part of the journey of an independent film, and we strive to be selected to screen all over the world. Your generous donation will make it possible to submit to, and attend these renowned fests in person, giving TESSA the best life it can possibly have.
Our thanks,
Megan, Adam, and Katie
